Live Sonic Activation
2019, France
The piece moved between spoken word, harmonic vocal frequencies, and resonant stillness — allowing each moment to emerge from the emotional field of the group. The result was a living ceremony: both intimate and archetypal, devotional and artistic.
Conceptually, The Ritual explored the threshold between healing and performance, the seen and the sensed. It served as an early live embodiment of Hoffmann’s ongoing exploration of sound as sculptural, relational, and transformational material.
The Ritual was a one-time, site-specific sonic activation — a private performance ceremony exploring voice as an instrument of presence and remembrance. Rooted in the codes of The Whisper Codes audio series, the work extended the sound practice into shared space, where listening became collective embodiment.
Held in candlelight and minimal spatial design, the performance unfolded as an improvised interplay between vocal transmission, vibrational sound, and subtle movement. Participants were invited into a field of inner descent — where silence, tone, and energy guided the experience more than narrative or form.
